Anushka Sharma Expresses 'Heartfelt Gratitude' To The Indian Armed Forces For 'Protecting Us Like Heroes'

Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to express 'heartfelt gratitude' to the Indian Armed Forces, who have foiled every bid by Pakistan to escalate tensions. Calling them 'heroes', Anushka thanked the forces and their families for all the sacrifices they have made.
"Eternally grateful to our Indian Armed Forces for protecting us through these times like the heroes that they are. Heartfelt gratitude to the sacrifices they and their families have made. Jai Hind," read Anushka's post.

Anushka's husband and Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli also put out a similar message on social media. His post read, "We stand in solidarity with, and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation. Jai Hind."
Anushka and Virat's reactions came after India appropriately responded to Pakistan's cowardly attack. On May 8, Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks on the military stations at Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab. However, the Indian defence system responded swiftly and neutralised the attack.
This was Pakistan’s second failed attempt to target Indian cities after Operation Sindoor, India's successful counter-terror strike to avenge the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack.
"Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot & Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today. The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported," the Raksha Mantralaya stated on Thursday night.
